Chimelong Xiangjiang Safari Park is recognised as the leading zoological park throughout all of China. It holds a 5A class tourism attraction level, the highest level obtainable and is presently the only zoo in China to hold this ranking.
Xiangjiang Safari Park is home to over 20,000 animals from over 450 species including giant pandas, polar bears and koalas to name but a few and it prides itself in its large collection of African and Asian species.
The Safari park consists walking section and car section. Walking section is fair good size. The major exhibits are Amazon Rain Forest, Tiger Hill, Panda Center, Primate Areas and Swan Lake. It takes about 4 hours to cover most of them.
The Giant Panda Center is the main attraction. It houses 10 giant pandas. All of the giant pandas are separated from visitors by a chest high glass wall and a 1 meter (3 ft) wide ditch. Giant Pandas sit in the exhibt. Most of them are less than 4 meters (12 ft) away from visitors. The giant pandas are so close to visitors, you can see muscle movements under their skin.
Tiger Hill is another major attraction. The park boasts that there are more than three hundred tigers in the park with the highest albino tiger head count in the world which is more than 100. There are dozens of adult tigers walking in the tiger hill area with another 20 to 30 baby tigers either in the cub incubators or in the nursery, and two nursing tiger mums in the tiger caves.
In April 2006, Xiangjiang Safari Park received 6 koalas from Australia and is the only zoo in mainland China to host koalas. 
Adding to their koala's story of success was the successful birth of 4 baby koalas (joeys) in late 2006, include a set of extremely rare koala twins. The twins are only the second set of twins to be born in captivity, with the last set being born more than 50 years ago.

1) Itinerary
- Pickup from your hotel in Guangzhou. Take taxi to the nearest Metro station. Take metro line 3 to HanXiChimeLong Station, change free shuttle bus to Xiangjiang Safari Park
- Free time in Xiangjiang Safari Park
- Take metro/taxi back to hotel in the late afternoon
