Zhenyuan
Zhenyuan is an ancient town in the northwestern part of Guizhou province, 3 hours drive for town of Kaili.
Zhenyuan has long been an ancient town of the Miao people. Miao people inhabit there for thousands of years. Its long history endows the town with many rich and generous cultural relics, making it much like a historic garden.
Zhenyuan covers only an area of 3.1sqkm but cradles 160 scenic spots including caves, palaces, pavilions, temples and rivers with their unique architecture, exquisite engravings and marvelous natural landscape.

The Dragon Boat Festival, held on May 25th of every year, is the most ceremonious celebration in Zhenyuan.
Black Dragon Cave is an architectural complex of the Ming and Qing Dynasties consisting of six parts(Black Dragon Cave, Ziyang Academy, Zhongyuan Buddhist Temple, Longevity Palace, Prayer Bridge and Lotus Blossom Pavilion.) It layout and design rely on a skillful incorporation of cliffs and architectural form.
Wuyang River includes upper and lower Wuyang Canyon, Yuntai Mountain, Heichong China Fir River, Flying Cloud Cliff and the famous Zhenyuan town with its historic and cultural background. It is known for its canyon, floating torrent, ancient temple and architecture and ethnic customs and practices.
Located along lofty and precipitous peaks, the Fir River district features rows of mountain tops and floating clouds and fog with an imposing manner. Its riverbed is paved with pebbles. The whole surrounding is secluded and safe and as the saying goes ' We don't know the clean stream of the river without diving in it.'
