Jiuzhou Cheng

 

Jiuzhou Cheng, also named as Jiuzhou Shopping Center, is one of the landmarks in Zhuhai, located in the north of Jingshan road.The building with an ancient style of Chinese palace architecture and covered with glazed roofs.

 

The width of the main hall of the palace is 70 meters, and the height is 16 meters. As a shopping centre in Zhuhai, Jiuzhou Cheng with more than 30 shops, all of them are feature the unique shop culture of Zhuhai.

 

 

Meixi Royal Stone Archways

 

The Meixi Royal Stone Archway is located at Mei Xi Village of Zhuhai City, with the total area of about 126,000 square meters. The sceneries here are well express the rich chinese history cultural and showing its unique local customs. It is one of the most popular tourist sites in Zhuahai.

 

Its main attractions include the first Chinese consulate in Hawaii at the end of Qing dynasty, the oversea Chinese millionaire Mr. Cheng Fang's hometown, Zhuhai famous people's waxwork, art gallery and articles, Cheng family's history, Chinese stone archways exhibition and so on..

 

Now, there are three stone archways left. During the year of 1886 and 1891,which were built by the emperor of Qing Dynasty Guangxu in honor of Cheng Fang and his families. Cheng Fang was born in Meixi Village, he is the first Chinese consul general in Honolulu. He did many favors for the village after returning to his hometown. blending with traditional Chinese architecture form and western decoration style, it is regarded as a major artistic treasure of Zhuhai. In 1989, Guangdong province took it as a 'Special protection item of old architecture'.

 

 

New Yuan MingYuan

 

located at the foot of the Lanpu Dashilin Shan, New Yuan Ming Yuan with an area of 1.4 square kilometers.The Structure based on the original Yuanmingyuan Garden in Beijing, one of the favorite gardens of the late emperors of the Qing dynasty.The garden demonstrates the Chinese imperial architectural style of the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911) and shows the unique layout of the southern China's classical gardens.

 

New YuanMingYuan is one of the most important historical attractions in China, it was built as a reminder of the glory and the bitter history of ancient China, and has been set up as a patriotism education site. It will take you about 2 hours to walk around the park.

 

Nearby the park, there is a big outdoor theatre, visitors can enjoy the great shows in the evening. In addition, there is a good restaurant in the park where one can enjoy the dilicious 'imperial Qing food'.

 

 

Statue of a fisher Girl

 

Zhuhai is a beautiful seaside city. The statue of fisher girl has become the symbol of Zhuhai, which located at the scenic Xianglu Bay.

 

Fisher girl is very beautiful with a little shy, she stands at the charming Xianglu Bay in an elegant pose, and raising a bright pearl with both hands high in the air, symbolizes Zhuhai's brightness.The statue was designed by a famous chinese sculptor, Panhe. The granite with 8.7 meters high and 10 tons in weight.

Cliff Carvings at Moya

 

It is an important discovery by archeologists affiliated with the Zhuhai Museum in October 1989, which revealed the cliff carvings at Moya as relics from the Bronze Age.

 

located at Mirror Bay, Gaolan, west of Zhuhai, there are some fascinating carvings, like people, boats, snakes, birds, deer and many drawings of intricate patterns. The scenery is filled with many people, men and women, some of whom are standing or lying down, or running, or dancing. The images are so vivid and so mysterious.
