Built in 1860, Dom Pedro V Theatre is the first western theatre in China. It was the first venue in Asia to stage Puccini's iconic "Madame Butterfly". The theatre was built to commemorate King Dom Pedro V of Portugal that features a ballroom, library and snooker room for the entertainment of the glitterati. A public restaurant is attached. The large entrance hall of the theatre with elegant chandelier and sweeping red velvet curtains.

 

 

Penha Hill

Near the Theatre, you will find the cobble-stoned St. Augustine's Square, which is a traditional Portuguese style streetscape that surrounded by the World Heritage sites of St. Joseph's Seminary and Church, St. Augustine's Church and the Sir Robert Ho Tung Library.

 

 

Ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral
Ruins of St. Paul's was built in 1602. Made of taipa and wood, the church was brilliantly decorated and furnished, according to early travelers.
