Pass Kunlun

Pass Kunlun is in the east of Nanning, it is a renowned old battlefield, It is a natural barrier of Nanning, a place contested by all strategists. In December, 1939, the Kuomingtang 5 th Army fought a heroic battle here against the well-equipped 5 th Division Group of the Japanese Itagiki Army. The battle lasted more than half a month and left over 4,000 soldiers dead.

After the victory of the anti-Japanese war, a magnificent stone pavilion with marble columns was built. This is the anti-Japanese war meritorious service citation pavilion in which is a tablet recording the campaign at Kunlun Pass resisting Japanese aggression in 1939. People who came here would go up to the pavilion to express their mourning for the generals and soldiers died in the war.
