Upon arrival at the Lijiang airport, pickup by our English speaking tour guide and drive to hotel. Free time for the rest of the day.

Day  2  Lijiang   (B,L)

Morning we'll drive to Qiaotou Town (2.5 hours), our trekking trip starts from here through High Trail, 28 zigzaging turns, total is 19km (about 8 hours). Our trekking finishes at Halfway Guest House today. You need to carry 2 days change clothes. The big luggage will be transported by luggage car to Tina's Inn (the hotel we will stay on Day 4), you will not see them tonight.

Day  3  Lijiang   (B,L)

In the early morning, continue our trekking to Tina's Inn (9KM, 3.5 hours). After lunch break, 1 hour (1.5 KM), walking down the steep cliff to the bank of Jinsha River, worship the dangerours shoal of "Starriness". Spending 1 more hour to climb up the gorge. Stay overnight in Tina's Inn. It is the best hotel located at the foot of Haba Snow Mountain.

Day  4  Lijiang   (B,L)

Continue your trekking for approximately 16 km (3-4 hours) to a small ferry, cross the river by boat, climb up the cliff and see the beautiful Daju Town. You will meet your driver and coach to take you back to Lijiang.

Day  5  Lijiang   ()

Free time to explore the old town of Lijiang on foot by yourself. No service of tour guide or car necessary today.

Weather condition for trekking in Tiger Leaping Gorge
The raining season in Zhongdian, Tiger Leaping Gorge and Lijiang is from late May to early September, roads might be blocked by mountain slide or falling rocks. The best traveling time for our trekking tour is from October to April.



In case of bad weather condition or road difficulties, the original itinerary which has been confirmed by us might has to be changed. The leader for this treking tour is our local tour guide, sometimes even the whole trip could be cancelled eventually. Please trust the judgement of our expienced tour guide, they are the expert and have escored trekking trips for years. Our safty is rely on them.

Tipping Policy in China

Dear Nancy, We very much enjoyed the tour thank you. There were a few minor problems such as food poisoning in the restaurant in Lijiang which could have been avoided had the restaurant heated our food correctly and not served it luke warm but we addressed these issues with the guide at the time. Also we were not happy with the hotel in Lijiang. Our room was facing a small alley and next to a very noisy bar which kept us awake all hours. It was a very dark room with no daylight at all and was also very cold. Breakfast was completely Chinese and they did not seem to cater for foreigners at all apart from having eggs. However the Hotel in Shangril La was wonderful. All in all it was an excellent tour and we would be happy to use your cervices again. Thank you very much for all your help. Kind Regards,

The Walnut Garden Guesthouse is a surprise!  after staying in I think that Walnut Garden Guesthouse is the best by difference, because it is very authentic, it is located in the Ancient Path of Walnut Garden, has an amazing view to the mountains.
