Day 7 Kunming, Dali ( B,L ) |
Drive 4 hours to Dali in the morning. Escorted tours in old town of Dali and nearby areas. Stay overnight in the old town, the hotel is a Bai Ethnic Style civilian house. |
Zhonghe Temple | The temple is a long, steep hike up the mountainside behind Dali. This is a great day trip and offers fantastic vistas of Dali and Erhai Lake. You can take a new chairlift up Mount Zhonghe. | Cangshan Mountain | Its 19 peaks extend 50 kilometers north to south in their column formation like a screen. The peaks, straight and magnificent, are overgrown with primeval forests, and 18 springs and streams filled with crystal-clear waters serpentine among them. Waterfalls and surging rivers emit thunderous roars. …… | Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple | Three Pagodas: are located northwest of Dali at the foot Cangshan Mountains. Day 8 Dali, Lijiang ( B,L ) |
Drive 3 hours to Lijiang, visit Xizhou Village on the route. Arrive Lijiang in the afternoon, Lijiang Ancient Town is one of the few places in China with well-preserved old style folk buildings. We'd walk around Square Street, visit Mu Prince Palace. |
Morning market in Xizhou | The Bai minority are much in evidence at Xizhou, 18 kilometres north of Dali. Day 9 Lijiang ( B,L ) |
In the early morning, drive to Yak Meadow where you can take a cable car to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Trek on the summit of the Yak Meadow for about 1 hour. In the afternoon, visit Yuhu Village, where Dr. Joseph Rock lived between 1922 and 1949, He was the world's leading expert on Naxi culture and local botany.

We will drive to Zhongdian in the morning and visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge on the way to Zhongdian. |
