In the middle of April every year, the Water Splashing Festival is the grandest ceremonial occasion for the Dai people in Xishuangbanna. People bless mutually by splashing water and take an active part in activities such as dragon boat matching, singing and dancing.

Upon arrival at Kunming airport, picked up by our local English speaking tour guide and drive to the hotel. Then transferred to visit the Grand View Park and the Flower and Birds Market.

Day  2  Kunming, Zhongdian   (B,L)

Packed your breakfast, we will catch the early morning flight fly to Zhongdian. Be met at Zhongdian airport and tranferred to start your tour. Visit the Puda Tso National Park (including Shudu Lake & Bita Lake), Tibetan Family visiting and the Songzanlin Monastery, where you may see the Lama having their evening lesson.

Day  3  Zhongdian, Deqin   (B,L,D)

Today we'll drive from Zhongdian to Shengping Town in Deqin County (187 KM). Visit the Napahai Lake, Great Bend of Yangtze River, enjoy scenery of Jinsha River Valley, wooden workshop at Benzilan en route. After lunch, visit the Dongzhulin Lamasery, through the Baimang Snow Mountain, enjoy the splendid sunset view from the top stop. The view along the way is fantastic with different kinds of trees, streams down the valley, prayer flags and stupas, and Tibetan villages. Stay overnight in Deqin.

Day  4  Deqin   (B,L,D)

Get up early in the morning (packing breafast), we'll drive to Mingyong village, stop at Feilai Temple to enjoy the sunrise of the Meili Snow Mountain (if good weather), stop for photos at nicer places en route. After lunch, start your hiking trip from village up to Meili Snow Mountain (or ride horse/mule up & down). After about 3 hours trekking, get to the Taizi Monastery (4759 m altitude), a good spot to view the magnificent Mingyong Ice Glacier. After the tour, drive back to Deqin County.

Day  5  Deqin, Zhongdian   (B,L)

After days of toilsome but exciting trip, you're likely to be a little tired, so this morning you can enjoy a breezy relaxing time for getting refreshed. After lunch, we will drive back to Zhongdian (about 5-6 hours driving), enjoy tremendous view of mountains, lakes and forest on the way.

Day  6  Zhongdian, Lijiang   (B,L)

After breakfast, we will drive to Lijiang. Visit pasture of Xiao Zhongdian, First Bend of the Yangtze River and the Tiger Leaping Gorge on the way. After arriving in Lijiang, leisure on your own.

Day  7  Lijiang   (B,L)

Full day to visit Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (taking Yak Meadow), Yufeng Lamasery, Yuhu Village (Joseph Rock's House) and Baisha Fresco.

Day  8  Lijiang, Dali   (B,L)

After our visiting in Lijiang, drive to Dali. Visit Xizhou Bai Minority old town, you could enjoy the tea ceremony of Bai Ethnic, Zhoucheng Village's Dying Cloth.

Day  9  Dali   (B,L)

Day  10  Dali, Xishuangbanna   (B,L,D)

Free time in Dali untill transferred to Dali airport for the morning flight to Xishuangbanna. Upon arrival, be met at Xishuangbanna airport and transferred to visit Wild Elephants Valley. After the tour, drive back to the downtown for your staying.

Day  11  Xishuangbanna   (B,L,D)

Full day Visit of Ganlan (Olive) Basin, Menglun Tropical Botanical Garden, and Dai Village for water splashing festival.

Day  12  Xishuangbanna, Kunming   (B,L)

Tour to Jingzhen Octagonal Pavilion, Manting Park, join-in the water splashing festival. You will be transferred to Jinghong airport to take the evening flight to Kuming. Upon arriving in Kuming, be met and transferred to the hotel.

Day  13  Kunming   (B)

Free at leisure until to be transferred to Kunming airport for your flight to your next destionation.
